Supernova
Explosion of a massive star, where the star is normally totally destroyed. However, if the core of the star remains intact, it may collapse to form a neutron star or black hole. The best-known remains of a supernova are the Crab nebulae in the constellation Taurus. It is an expanding nebula, with a rapidly spinning neutron star, a pulsar, at its center.
